Hello, everybody. I’m Dr. Vinay from Northwestern Hair. In today’s video, I want to cover, “What should you expect from your hair replacement procedure?” Now, starting right off the bat, I want to tell you that a hair replacement procedure is very safe, and it’s very reliable. You should expect to get the results that you wanted as long as your expectations were set by your physician, as they should be. So, during your procedure, what you expect is probably spent a full day in the office. When you go home, you might have a day of discomfort, but it’s rare to have any pain during your procedure or afterwards. You’ll have a bandage on your head for about two days, so you’ll have to lay low, in terms of activity, for by five days, but you’ll have scabs and swelling for up to 10 days. So, your social downtime may be around the 10 day mark depending on what your activity levels are. After your procedure, all of your hairs that we transplant are going to go through resting phase and shedding phase.
That means you won’t see your results right away. It’ll take a year to see your results. I take people 12 to 14 months. Now, it’s very true that some people see results at four to six months, and a lot of our patients do, but I can tell you that a large number take 12 to 14 months to see their results. So, just keep that in mind. Now, in terms of success rate, I think this depends on the team that you work with. An average, I would say a good graph take rate is about 90%.
However, that number can vary anywhere from 75% to 95% depending on the team you work with, how much the transition [inaudible 00:01:38], how healthy the hairs are that they take, especially what hairs that they decide to transfer. So, that will tell you how much of a result you get. So, if you get 1,000 hairs transplanted, you should expect to have anywhere between 750 to 950 left. Now, that’s a big difference when you’re paying for each individual hair. So, make sure you pick your team appropriately, but I can’t encourage you enough that if you’re interested in hair replacement, that you do go forward with this procedure, because it is very reliable.
