Should I be seen for a consultation first?
-
You are more than welcome to schedule a complimentary consultation, but it is not required! Our artist will discuss your goals, preferences, and expectations for the treatment, as well as any concerns or medical conditions that may affect the outcome. They will review your medical history and ask about any allergies or sensitivities. This information will be discussed before the treatment if you did not schedule a consultation.
-
Will I be numbed for the treatment?
-
Yes! To minimize discomfort during the treatment, the provider will apply a topical numbing cream to the lips. This will sit on your lips for 20-30 minutes before the treatment begins. If you begin to feel discomfort during the treatment, more numbing cream will be applied to reduce discomfort.
-
How long does lip blushing/lip tattooing last?
-
The treatment is a semi-permanent tint that can last for up to 2-3 years, depending on various factors such as the individual's skin type and lifestyle habits.
-
If I am prone to cold sores, can I still get my lips blushed?
-
It is important for us to know if you are prone to cold sores prior to your appointment so we can prescribe you medication to avoid an outbreak. If you have never had an outbreak of cold sores, it is possible and normal that you could experience it for the first time.
-
How many sessions will I need?
-
Every client will start with a two-part initial appointment. The first appointment will include consultation and the full treatment. The second appointment, 6-8 weeks later, will be a touch-up session to ensure the pigment and shape has fully settled and we have achieved the desired results. After the second appointment (touch-up), this is a maintenance based service where you come in when you notice pigment has faded and you would like to darken it.
