If we decide that you will require an open rhinoplasty, you will have a small scar at the base of the nose. This scar heals very quickly and is barely visible. Other scarring will be inside the nose and not seen.

How long does the external splint stay on?

If you had work on your nasal dorsum, we will place a Denver splint on afterwards. This splint will be removed in the office 5-7 days after your procedure.

When will I have internal splits?

Internal splinting is rarely used in our practice. However, we may decide to place internal splints if we feel the internal structures of the nose need to be better stabilized. These will be removed at your first post op visit.
