Intense pulsed light (IPL) is a cosmetic treatment that uses high-intensity pulses of visible light to improve the appearance of skin. The light energy is delivered to the skin in a series of pulses, which are absorbed by specific targets, such as pigmented cells or blood vessels. Traditional BBL: Broadband light therapy (BBL) is a type of skin treatment that uses high-intensity pulses of visible light to improve the appearance of redness and hyperpigmentation of the skin.

Forever Young BBL: Forever Young BBL is an IPL treatment that uses broadband light technology to not only address visible signs of aging, but also to target the genetic markers associated with aging. This makes it a comprehensive and innovative approach to skin rejuvenation that goes beyond traditional treatments. By stimulating the production of collagen and elastin, Forever Young BBL can help improve the texture, tone, and overall appearance of the skin, while also reducing the appearance of fine lines, wrinkles, and age spots.

How Many BBL Treatments Are Needed?

Every patient varies with the number of treatments needed. This depends on your skin condition and level of improvement desired. Our Med Spa staff can discuss the best plan for you to achieve your desired result.

Immediately following treatment, you can expect a slight sunburn sensation in the treated area and some redness. Wearing sunscreen or staying out of the sun is very important following a BBL treatment. Depending on the aggressiveness of the treatment, it is possible to have swelling for about 1-2 days. In some cases, pigmentation will appear slightly darker, or have a coffee ground appearance, for 7-10 days before flaking off.

All BBL treatments are non-invasive and comfortably tolerated by patients.
