What is No Touch FUE?

What is No Touch FUE?

In Standard FUE, hairs have to be plucked out with tweezers. This forceful pinch can easily kink the hair. In No Touch FUE, we use our Smart Suction technology to collect hairs without touching them.

Standard FUE Can Kink Hairs

In Standard FUE, hairs need to be plucked using tweezers. The force from tweezers can easily crush the hair track and kink the hair. These kinked hairs grow in random directions and does not look good.

No Touch. No More Kinked Hairs

In No Touch FUETM, we use our Smart Suction technology to collect hairs without touching them. No tweezers. No crushing of hair tracks. No randomly directed hairs. Just smooth, free-flowing hairs.

Just $5/graft

Since we don’t need a technician to puck hairs, No Touch FUETM is less costly than Standard FUE. Just $5/graft. That’s a win-win. Gentler on your hairs. Gentler on your budget.

How much does hair replacement cost?

Most commonly, hair clinic charge by the graft. In Chicago, these prices range from $4.50/graft to $24/graft. In our office, a No-Touch FUE is $5/graft, a MicroFUE is $12/graft and Discrete FUE is $24/graft. To keep the price of the No-touch FUE low, we constantly upgrade to the newest technologies to imporve our efficiency, while still delivering a better result than we can achieve with a basic FUE. The difficulty in quoting a price stem from predicting the graft count. There are many variable that influence this including coverage area, desired density, hair thickness, head size and even the color of your hair. The front hair is particularly important to get perfect and this requires 2-3x more grafts than another area. That is because we only want to use micrografts (different than MicroFUE) in the front hairline. Micrografts are signle hair grafts that look for natural then grafts with 2, 3 or 4 hairs.

Although grafts grow at varying rates in patients, patients will see growth within the year. However, many patients will start seeing new hairs startng at 6 months.

All hair deteriorates in quality with time and as you age. In most cases this does not become cosmetically evident until much later in life but on occasion it may happen earlier. So even if everything is done correctly, it is possible that say 10, 20 or 30 years later, the transplant may not quite be the same quality it once wasYour scalp needs to be examined throughout to see if the same is happening to your donor area where the original hair transplant came from.

Unless you are getting a Discrete FUE or long hair FUE, your doctors will need to buzz but the back and sides of your head in order to collect your hair grafts. However, you do not need to shave or buzz cut the top of your head where the graft are being placed. Having your hairs present, help determine the direction which your hair grafts will be placed. In our practice we provide hair cuts for all our clients before there procedure.

Almost every patient will develop some swelling because it is a normal part of the healing process. It will almost always occur with procedures where the hairline, temples or frontal areas are transplanted. But if your procedure is only on the crown, you are not likely to get any visible swelling in the face. In any case, swelling will start in the forehead, and slowly move down the face with gravity. The eyebrow area will swell and then the lower eyelids can also follow. The use of prescription steroid tablets can really help the swelling to be as little as possible and to disappear within 4-5 days. Certain other medical conditions can lead to longer swelling and/or bruising, so always discuss with your surgeon.
