How long until I start to see visible results?
-
You can expect to see visible results from low-level light therapy within 12 to 24 weeks of continued use of 25-minute sessions every other day. Results will vary from individual to individual. You can expect to see a slowdown in hair loss and reduction in miniaturization of hair follicles in the first 2 to 4 months. From around 4 to 6 months, you may notice thicker, fuller hair starts to grow back. LLLT is expected to yield better results as you continue using it to maintain healthy hair growth.
-
Can I use Laser Cap everyday?
-
You are not advised to use it everyday. We recommend to allow one day of rest in between your 25-minute sessions. Using the helmet more than the recommended usage has not been proven to provide better results. Overstimulation of the hair follicles may be detrimental to the hair restoration process.

I noticed my hair is falling out/shedding after my initial treatments, is this normal?
-
For most hair loss solutions, it is perfectly normal for some users to see shedding in the beginning as weaker, thin hairs are shed to be replaced by stronger, thicker hairs. Low-level light therapy (LLLT) is not expected to make hair loss worse because it is designed to combat genetic hair loss. Our clinical advisors believe that any hair loss you may observe initially is normal and can likely be attributed to the staging of hair growth. There are four stages of hair growth cycle: anagen, catagen, telogen, and exogen phase.* It's a repeated cycle of hair growth, hair loss, followed by hair growth again. Think about it as the process of old, weak hairs falling out as it is replaced by new, thicker, healthier hair. The exposure to red light of the dermal layer of the skin, in the mid-600 nanometer range of wavelength, corrects the metabolic cycle of the mitochondria located in the proliferating cells of the dermal papilla. In layman terms, the red light increases the efficiency of the hair follicle and turns on cell metabolism. Although visible results are not expected immediately. We're confident that low-level light therapy can improve your hair conditions significantly with consistent usage over time. Stay consistent and we expect you to start noticing positive improvement in hair condition.

Is it safe to use finasteride (Propecia™) and/or minoxidil (Rogaine™) while using a Laser Cap?
-
Low-level light therapy (LLLT) may be used in conjunction with many types of approved hair loss treatments. However, it is not required to use the iRestore device with another form of treatment in order to achieve results. Many physicians have reported that laser therapy can stimulate cell metabolism and can be used in conjunction with other hair care products or hair loss treatments for enhanced results and faster recovery rate.
-
How often should I use my laser cap?
-
You should be used consistently every other day for 25-minute sessions for optimal results. With the hands-free design, time passes by quickly and does not interrupt with your daily activities whether you're doing work, or watching shows.
-
Is it too late for me to start using a Laser Cap?
-
In order for low-level light therapy (LLLT) to work, you cannot be completely bald. The hair follicles must still be alive, otherwise laser therapy may not be effective. As long as you still have hair, even thin hair, laser therapy may be beneficial to you. iRestore is not intended for individuals with severe hair loss.
