Before your procedure
Our doctors will prescribe two medications (an antibiotic and relaxation medication) that you will need to pick up from the pharmacy. The only other items you need for a procedure is a t-shirt you don’t mind getting dirty and a ride home (Uber/Lyft are fine)
Procedure Day
Bring your prescriptions to your procedure. About 30 minutes prior to your procedure, take 2 pills of your antibiotic. Your doctor will instruct you on how to take the relaxation medication. Watch the video to see how procedure day will be.
Right after your procedure
After your procedure, we’ll put you in a snug head wrap. We want this to stay in place for 48 hours. You may notice some thin, red fluid come out under your chin or under your ears. This is normal. Wear a t-shirt your don’t mind getting dirty and clean up the fluid with a napkin or Kleenex. If you have pain or discomfort, take 500-1000 mg Tylenol and/or 600mg Advil every 8 hours.
Day after your procedure
The day after your procedure, you can remove your dressing to take a shower. You can shower normally and put the head wrap back on afterwards. If you still have some drainage, put the white gauze under the area for have drainage. It’s normal to be more swollen today. If you plan to shave, watch yourself in the mirror as your skin may be numb.
Two days after your procedure
Two days after your procedure, you can remove your dressing and move toward wearing in the evening. You can stop wearing the dressing in the evenings when you feel like your swelling has resolved. Some people like to by a double chin dressing from Shein.com or Amazon because they are more comfortable to sleep in.
