The Brazilian butt lift is a butt augmentation procedure that will leave you with perky, prominent rear end. It’s the perfect way to increase the sensual appeal of your buttocks. The Brazilian butt lift utilizes your existing body fat to augment the size and shape of your buttocks.
This procedure is one of the most popular surgeries in the world, as it is far more natural than most types of conventional butt augmentation. It involves no implants, so there is no need to worry about implant drift or allergic reaction.
How Does It Work?
In the Brazilian butt lift, fat is extracted from different pre-determined areas of your body through liposuction. Once extracted, the fat is processed through centrifugation. This is done to purify the donor fat cells that need to go into your buttocks. In this process, the dead and damaged fat cells are eliminated, along with any excess fluid, leaving only the healthy fat cells.
After purification, the fat is injected into your buttocks. Fat droplets are typically micro-injected into the butt at various depths determined by the surgeon. The fat is strategically inserted into the upper quadrants of the butt to ensure that the butt appears perkier and more well-defined.
In most instances, local anesthesia with IV sedation is used instead of general anesthesia. This can be discussed with your surgeon during your consultation.
Who Is a Good Candidate for the Brazilian Butt Lift?
Patients who possess any underlying heart, lung, or neurological conditions may not be ideal candidates for the Brazilian butt lift procedure. Your level of general health needs to be good. In addition, you will need to have a certain amount of fat to be eligible, and your doctor may ask you to gain weight before considering you for the surgery.
Most surgeons will require you to get medical clearance at least two weeks before the surgery. You will also need to stop smoking prior to the surgery according to the timeline set by your doctor. Avoid any non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs, as they can cause increased bleeding. You also need to be realistic about the expected results for the surgery and gain a full understanding of what you can expect from your doctor.
What Is the Recovery Period Like?
You should not sit directly on your buttocks for up to three weeks after your Brazilian butt lift, and you will need to wear compression garments for as long as your doctor recommends, usually for the first two weeks. You will need a lot of bed rest and must consume a lot of fluids for the first week.
Patients are advised to return to work only after three weeks or so, and driving should be avoided for three weeks. Do not participate in rigorous exercise for the first four weeks; you may engage in light walking and stretching.
You will experience a degree of post-surgical bruising and swelling for around six weeks as your skin slowly retracts. Your doctor will also schedule post-operative appointments on a regular basis, and you should be able to resume all your normal activities after a month. It is imperative that your strictly follow the plan your doctor has set out for you.
