So you want to do a hair transplantation, however you have super long hair and you’re wondering if the procedure’s going to work. The answer is yes, the procedure will work. However, there are some things to consider. Number one is the technology that we use to gather your hairs. Now most hair transplant procedures require you to get a buzz cut. However, in our office, we can perform the procedure discreetly and get out individual hairs without disrupting any one’s around it, such that your procedure stays concealed.

When we go to insert the hairs into their new location, the hairs usually have to be cut down to their small size. The reason for that is a long hair can add a lot of weight to the hair and cause it to eject out of the graft site. Now, there is some length that we can leave. However remember that these hairs are going to fall on in a month and it may not be worth keeping them long just for that short period of time, especially if we can improve the results. After your procedure is done, this is like normal hair. You can treat it any way you want. It will grow to the length of the other hairs, if that’s what you choose to do.
